Transparency about your data.

The essentials about personal data on this site, in plain language. It is a practical baseline, not legal advice.

Data collected

  • Newsletter: email, language (locale) and, at signup, your IP — used by the newsletter provider for fraud prevention.
  • Comments: name, email, and the comment content, processed by FastComments — no account with any service required.
  • Aggregated, anonymous audience metrics (Vercel Web Analytics), without cookies and without individual identification.
  • Technical server logs (short retention).
  • Essential preferences (theme and language), stored in your browser.

Purpose

Data is used only for the stated purpose: sending the newsletter, showing comments, and operating the site securely. We do not sell data or buy lists.

Cookies

We use only essential storage (theme, language, security). We do not use marketing cookies — so there is no consent banner in the MVP. If tracking/marketing is ever added, a consent banner will be introduced.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly solution: aggregated, anonymous metrics (pages visited, traffic source, device, browser, country), with no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no individual identification or cross-site tracking. That is why there is no consent banner.

We also use Vercel Speed Insights: anonymous performance metrics (Web Vitals) from real visits, to keep the site fast — likewise with no cookies and no individual identification.

Vercel's privacy policy: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Newsletter

Subscription uses double opt-in and every email includes an unsubscribe link. We collect email, language and, at signup, your IP — used by the newsletter provider for fraud prevention. You can unsubscribe or request removal at any time.

Open and click tracking are disabled. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.

Comments (FastComments)

Comments use FastComments, a third-party service. The widget only loads when you click “Load comments” — before that, no FastComments script or connection is made. When you comment, your name, email, and the comment content may be sent to FastComments for processing and display.

Comments are public and the responsibility of whoever posts them. They may be migrated to a successor comment system on this site, with attribution preserved and the same purpose (display alongside the text being commented on) — whenever technically possible. Removal on request, at any time, via the contact below.

FastComments privacy policy: https://fastcomments.com/privacy-policy.

Providers and international transfer

Some providers — for example hosting (Vercel), FastComments and the newsletter provider — process data and may be located outside Brazil, following their own privacy policies.

Retention

Newsletter: while subscribed, plus the provider’s minimum period after unsubscribing. Technical logs: short retention. We do not retain data without a purpose.

Your rights and contact

You can request access, correction or removal of your data. Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link or request removal. Comments: request removal via the contact below.
